At Gateway, we proudly stand behind every product in our store, otherwise why sell it? We source only the highest quality plants from the best growers, both in our region and across the country. It is our guarantee that our plants were grown to the highest standard, are true to name, and are in a healthy growing condition at the time of sale. If you have any questions about our guarantee below, our customer service team will be happy to help.  Please email us or call (302)239.2727.

The Gateway Guarantee:

We are proud to offer a one-time, one-year guarantee on all hardy trees, shrubs & perennials from date of purchase. We do have a few caveats regarding the guarantee. Please understand we cannot accept responsibility for plants:

  • Kept or grown in containers 
  • Damaged by deer or other pests
  • With indications of neglect (not watered, etc.) or overwatering (it happens!)
  • Being planted and/or grown in improper conditions (ie shade plants grown in full sun, etc.)
  • Tropical plants or any plants grown outside of their recommended hardiness zone
  • Extreme weather conditions (drought, flood/excessive rainfall, wind, or other acts of God) 
  • Replacement plants or any plant sold at a discount of 30% or more

Customers who suffer the rare and unfortunate loss of a plant may be offered a Gateway Garden Center credit in the amount of the original purchase price or a replacement plant (if available). Please bring in your receipt (paper or email) and several photos that show both up-close and landscape views to help identify the potential issue (and thus hopefully preventing any future ones). You are welcome to bring in the plant as well, if possible. 

Returns:

All plants may be returned within 24 hours of purchase if they are well cared-for for and in (re)sale-able condition. We reserve the right to refuse a return if the plants are not in the same condition as when they were sold. 

Additionally we may choose to charge a restocking fee for the return of more that one plant or other such large returns. Special orders are not returnable.
