The Many Shades of Viburnum

Our Native Viburnums

Discover the local charm of Viburnum nudum’Brandywine’ and ‘Winterthur’, two stunning cultivars with deep roots in our region. These native shrubs offer year-round interest, from their creamy white spring flowers set against deep glossy green foliage, to their spectacular rich burgundy leaves and bright pink and blue berries in the fall. ‘Winterthur’ was developed at our renowned Winterthur Museum and Gardens, while ‘Brandywine’ is a newer introduction by Danish breeder Mark Bulk. ‘Winterthur’ will need a pollinating partner to produce fruit, so companion plant with ‘Brandywine’ to get that impressive display of berries in the fall. Both cultivars thrive in our local climate, providing food and shelter for native wildlife. Enhance your landscape and celebrate our region’s heritage.
